System Partitioning
Use the Partitioning menus to restrict operator
keyboard access to monitors and cameras.

Keyboard Numbering in the
Partitioning Menus
Eight RS232 ports are provided on the MP48 patch
panel. The total ports can be expanded to 32 by
using AD Port Expanders. In order for partitioning to
work properly, you must know if Port Expanders are
in use.
The following table shows the appropriate keyboard
designations with and without port expanders.

when changing system partitioning settings.
Partitioning Keyboards and
Monitors
Use Keyboard/Monitor to specify which keyboards
have access to which monitors.

The left hand column represents monitor numbers;
the top row represents keyboard numbers. Use
Page Left (Auxiliary On) and Page Right (Auxiliary
Off) to display additional keyboard numbers.
To change the partitioning setting for a keyboard and
monitor:
1. Move the cursor to the cross point of the
keyboard and the monitor that you want to
partition.
2. Press Enter (Shot) to change the setting.
• Y (yes) indicates that a keyboard has access
to a specific monitor.
• N (no) indicates that a keyboard cannot
access a specific monitor.
• By default, all keyboards have access to all
monitors.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for each keyboard/monitor
you want to change. Press Exit (Pattern) to
return to the previous menu.
