J. Reference Specifications, Materials, and/or Codes:
1. It shall be the Contractor's responsibility to submit all items necessary to
obtain all required permits to the appropriate Regulatory Agencies, obtain
all required permits, and pay all required fees.
2. All work shall conform to the following Building Codes:
a. National Electrical Code (NEC)
b. National Fire Protection Association (NFPA)
3. All work shall conform to all federal, state and local ordinances.
4. Where applicable, all fixtures, equipment, and materials shall be as
approved or listed by the following:
a. Factory Mutual Laboratories (FM).
b. Underwriters Laboratories, Inc. (UL)
c. National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA).
5. References to the National Electrical Code and National Fire Protection
Association (NFPA) are a minimum installation requirement standard.
Design drawings and specification sections shall govern in those instances
where requirements are greater than those specified in the NEC and
NFPA.
6. All material and equipment shall be listed, labeled or certified by
Underwriters' Laboratories, Inc. where such standards have been
established. Equipment and material which are not covered by UL
Standard will be accepted provided equipment and material is listed,
labeled, certified or otherwise determined to meet safety requirements of
a nationally recognized testing laboratory. Equipment of a class which no
nationally recognized testing laboratory accepts, certifies, lists, labels, or
determines to be safe will be considered, if inspected or tested in
accordance with national industrial standards such as NEMA, ICEA or
ANSI. Evidence of compliance shall include certified test reports and
definitive shop drawings.
7. All work shall meet or exceed the standards and procedures of the
following:
a. National Fire Protection Association (NFPA):
b. NFPA 70
c. National Electrical Code
d. NFPA 101 Life Safety Code
e. Underwriters Laboratory (UL)
