Installation Guide

AmDry Installation Guide
Tip: to check that your top plate framing is installed
at the proper angle in the corners, measure 2’ and
mark on one side of the corner, measure and mark
3’ on the other side of the corner. The distance
between the two marks on the top plate should read
5’ when measured across the angle.
5) Using a plum string measure from the top plate to
the basement floor or sub floor panel to determine the correct
location to install the bottom horizontal plate, install this
around the entire room. The bottom plates will be fastened
directly to the Amdry ISP (if this has been previously
installed) or fastened directly into the concrete basement floor
using appropriate concrete fasteners. Double check that the
angle is correct from the top place by using the tip in step #4.
6) IMPORTANT. Make sure you pre plan where your electrical
outlets and switches are to be placed. Once you have installed
the bottom horizontal plates around the entire room lay the
electrical wire behind these bottom plates as the electrical
wiring will be installed as the IWP are being placed.
The electric wire will be secured by electric staples on
the vertical wall studs as the installation progresses.
Note: the electrical wiring will need to follow the local
building code requirements, inspected by and
connected to the electrical service a qualified electrical
professional.
7) Install the corner vertical studs in each of the corners
of the room the studs will be installed so that the 1.5”
(3.91 cm) stud facing is open on each side of the corner as
shown in the picture.
8) You are now ready to install the first IWP. Measure the height
of the wall, If the wall height is less than 96” (244 cm) you will
need to cut the IWP to the proper height.
