Basement Preparation:
Pre-conditioning As panels and any wood flooring normally ships DRY, by placing the
panels in the basement for a number of days prior to laying them down , the panels will absorb
some of the humidity in the room and acclimatize . This will mean there is less expansion when
they are actually laid down, and the chance of warping or buckling is reduced. Amdy LP, unlike
other Tongue and Groove panel products, will not have any of the joint expansion and
contraction issues related to traditional wooden tongue and groove jointing due to our patented
Flex - Connectors.
Place panels in the basement for a minimum
of 24 hours prior to installation to acclimatize
to the room, lay the panels flat to the floor
Sweep and / or vacuum all loose debris off
basement floor
Check to make sure the floor is level by using
a carpenter’s level and a tape measure over
the area that are installing the Amdry subfloor
on. Any area that you find uneven a bump
or dip more than ¼”
over a 36” to 48” length should be repaired to
a smooth level surface using a self-
levelling concrete product please follow
the manufacturers instructions
