1.3 DEFINITIONS
A. Autom atic Gain Control (AGC): a process by which gain is autom atically adjusted as a
function of input or other specified param eter.
B. Privacy Masking: The ability to m ask out a specific area to prevent it from being viewed in
order to com ply with privacy laws and particular site requirem ents.
C. SensUp (sensitivity up): Increases cam era sensitivity by increasing the integration tim e on
the CCD (lowering shutter tim e from 1/50 s to 1/5 s - PAL; 1/60 s to 1/6 s - NTSC). This is
accom plished by integrating the signal from a number of consecutive video fields to reduce
signal noise.
D. NightSense: A m ethod of boosting the sensitivity of high-resolution Bosch color cam eras by
9db (a factor of 3) by com bining the signal of the color image in a single m onochrom e
picture.
