Setting Function
ACTIVATE
BEEPER
When activated, the beeper sounds whenever a Port is
changed; when the Auto Scan function is activated (see F7
SCAN, p. 36); or an invalid entry is made on an OSD menu.
Choices are: Y (to activate the beeper), or N (to disable the
beeper). The default is Y (activated).
SET QUICK
VIEW PORTS
This function lets the Administrator select which Ports to
include as Quick View Ports.
Quick View ports alow Users to scan and view selected ports,
saving time on a large installation. For instance, if an
installation includes 500 computers and you want to only view
10 of them, you can designate their 10 ports as Quick View
Ports and then select Quick View under the LIST function (see
F2 LIST, p. 27)
w To select/deselect a port as a Quick View Port, Double
Click it, or move the highlight bar to it, then press [Enter].
An arrowhead displays in the QV column of the Main Screen
LIST to indicate a port that has been selected as a Quick
View Port.
w If you select one of the Quick View options for the LIST view,
only ports that have been selected as Quick View Ports with
this function appear on the Main Screen list.
w If you select one of the Quick View options for Auto Scanning
(see SCAN/SKIP MODE, p. 30), only those port that have
been selected as Quick View Ports with this function are
Auto Scanned.
The default is for no ports to be selected.
SET
ACCESSIBLE
PORTS
This function allows the Administrator to define User access to
the computers on the installation on a port-by-port basis.
For each User, select the target Port; then press the
[Spacebar] to cycle through the choices:
F Full Access
V View Only
Blank No Access (the port does not appear on the User’s
Main Screen LIST)
Repeat until all access rights have been set, then press
[Enter]. The default is F for all users on all Ports.
