Using TV Decoder
The DE2 Board is equipped with ADV7181 as its TV Decoder chip. The ADV7181
is integrated video decoder automatically detects and converts a standard analog
baseband televison signal-compatible with worldwide standards NTSC, PAL, and
SECAM into 4:2:2 component video data-compatible with 16-bit/8-bit
CCIR601/CCIR656.
The highly flexible digital output interface enables performance video decoding
and conversion in line-locked clock-based systems. This makes the device ideally
suited for a broad range of applications with diverse analog video characteristics,
including tape-based sources, broadcast sources, security/surveillance cameras,
and professional systems.
All the registers in this TV Decoder can be programmed by I2C bus. Figure 3.14
shows the schematics of the TV decoder circuits. The pin assignment of the
associated interface is shown in Table 3.12.
