If this Message Appears
Various messages are displayed on the screen during operation. In addition to the messages telling you the current status or providing guidance for the
next operation, there are also the following error messages. If one of these error messages is displayed, carefully follow the instructions in the solution
column.
System
Message Cause Solution
No operation while driving - for your safety A menu selection operation was carried out
while the vehicle was running.
Move the vehicle to a safe location, stop, and
engage the parking brake, then carry out this
operation.
Unable to read Disc. • A disc that this system cannot read has been
loaded.
• The disc is dirty or upside down.
• The disc cannot be read because of
condensation.
Take out the disc, check if it is upside down,
clean it if necessary, then reinsert it.
Take out the disc, allow enough time for the
condensation to evaporate (about 1 hour), then
reinsert the disc.
Screen display swtiches itself off temporarily
as protection against damage through high
temperature.
It switches on again as soon as the
temperature returns to normal.
The temperature in vehicle is too high. Allow the vehicle’s interior temperature to cool.
Cannot read Disc. Further operation could
limit Navigation system performance.
Please wait until the temperature returns to
normal.
The temperature in vehicle is too high. Lower the temperature at normal temperature.
Cannot read SD Card. Further operation
could limit Navigation system performance.
Please wait until the temperature returns to
normal.
• The temperature in vehicle is too high.
• The temperature in vehicle is too low.
• Allow the vehicle’s interior temperature to
cool.
• Turn up the heat at normal temperature.
Cannot locate SD Card, please check the
card.
• The SD card is malfunction.
• The unit does not support the SD card.
• An SD card is not inserted.
• Consult your nearest ALPINE dealer.
• Use the SD card supplied with this system.
• Insert the SD card.
SD Card is writing-protected, please check
the card.
The SD Card is write-protected. Release the write-protected of SD Card.
Cannot eject Disc. Mechanism error. Press button for 10 seconds or more.
Communication error to DVD drive.
System will be reset.
An access error to DVD drive occurred for
some reasons.
The unit is rebooted automatically.
USB error.
Switching On/Off engine will make a restart.
Abnormal current is run to the USB connector
device (an error message may be displayed if
the USB device that is not compatible with the
unit is connected).
USB memory is a malfunction or it is shorted.
• Restart the engine.
• Connect another USB memory.
Cannot access DVD drive.
Please ask Service Centre for help.
An access error to DVD drive occurred for
some reasons.
Please ask Service Centre for help.
Cannot recognise SD card. Please ask
Service Centre for help.
An access error to SD card occurred for some
reasons.
Please ask Service Centre for help.
System error.
Resetting the system.
A file system error occured on the SD card for
some reason.
The unit is rebooted automatically.
Adjustment could not be completed. Adjustment of the touch panel failed for some
reason.
Perform the touch panel adjusting operation
again. (See page 96.)
Unable to complete download. The connected mobile phone does not support
transfer of its phone book.
Connect the mobile phone that supports
transferring the phone book, then transfer
again. (See page 85.)
