English Français Español What is an MD Qu'est-ce qu'un MD ¿Qué es un MD? The small, compact cartridge containing a 64mm diameter disc is very easy to handle. The signals on the disc are digital and are read without touching the disc, so the quality of the sound remains unchanged upon playback (unlike cassette). It uses a recording method called ATRAC (Adaptive TRansform Acoustic Coding). This is a compression technique used to reduce the music data to 1/5 of its original size.
English • Do not open the shutter (window) on the cartridge. • Do not touch the disc inside the cartridge. • Wipe off any dust or debris on the cartridge. Pay special attention to the spindle side of the MD. • Do not expose to direct sun light. • Do not expose to a location where sand or dust could enter. • Make sure labels are properly positioned. • Use only 1 label per MD. • Do not use an MD with its label peeling off. • Store in its case when not in use.
