Introduction

This KTX-GM8K2 Perfect Fit installation kit is for Select 2014+ Chevrolet/GMC Trucks (without the

Bose system). Included are all the parts needed to install your Alpine INE-Z928HD or Alpine X008

Audio Video Navigation system. KTX-GM8K2 Perfect Fit installation kit also includes an interface

that will retain factory features such as OnStar, vehicle settings, steering wheel controls (SWC),

front and rear park assist and warning chimes when the original radio is removed. It also provides

data bus driven outputs such as retained accessory power (RAP), vehicle speed sensor (VSS),

illumination, reverse trigger and parking brake. Refer to the individual instruction sections of this

manual to remove your vehicle’s factory radio and assemble the kit.

Caution! Disconnect your vehicle’s negative battery terminal before the installation to

help prevent electrical damage. We recommend the use of a digital multimeter to check

vehicle wiring. Do not use a test light! A test light or grounded wire probe can cause

damage to the vehicle’s computer and/or diagnostic systems. Avoid all factory airbag

wiring. Airbags can accidentally deploy causing serious injury or even death.

Notes:

• See your vehicle’s instructions for any special tools your installation might require.

• Read all instructions accompanying your car stereo for proper wiring and mounting

instructions.

Factory Stereo Removal 1. Unsnap and remove center dash trim piece from around the radio and climate controls. 2. Remove (4) 7mm screws from the radio and climate controls. 3. Remove the tuner and CD player. 4. Remove the climate controls by carefully unclipping from factory panel. These will later be installed into the main trim panel. Mounting The Stereo 1. Attach the left and right side brackets to the head unit using screws supplied with head unit and then attach to trim panel.

Mounting The Stereo Continued 3. If you wish to retain the factory rear view camera you must solder an RCA end onto the signal wires. The wires you will need can be found at the Human Machine Interface Control Module (HMICM). This module is located behind the lower glove box and can be accessed by removing the 4 - T15 bolts securing the lower glove box to the dash. Once you have located the HMICM in the vehicle, locate the 12 pin connector on the far left.
