Programs You Will Use
KeyWords RP
The KeyWords RP reporting software—accessible from the Renaissance Place
Home page—reports on students’ performance on KeyWords lessons on
NEOs. You’ll need this program installed on your Renaissance Place server.
Renaissance Place
Renaissance Place—also accessible from the Renaissance Place Home page—
lets you view and manage district, school, student, teacher, parent, course,
and class information in the Renaissance Place database, which is shared by
all Renaissance Place Edition software used in your district or school. The
tasks you can perform in the management program depend on your user
level. For example, administrators have more management tasks to perform
than teachers. Sample tasks may include:
• Adding, editing, or deleting courses and classes, and assigning teachers and
students to them
• Selecting a different school year to work in
• Viewing student information
KeyWords SmartApplet on the NEO
The KeyWords SmartApplet on the NEO is the program students use to work
through their lessons. KeyWords RP is compatible with KeyWords 3.3 or
higher.
AlphaSmart Manager
AlphaSmart Manager 2 is the link between the KeyWords SmartApplet on the
NEO and KeyWords RP. AlphaSmart Manager helps you retrieve KeyWords
data from NEOs and synchronize it with the data in KeyWords RP. You can
also use AlphaSmart Manager to change KeyWords settings for all connected
