•Do not check Enable AlphaSmart Spell Checker when taking the
quiz.
•Do not check Enable other AlphaSmart SmartApplets when taking
the quiz so that students can’t use spell check in other SmartApplets.
Can a student take a quiz twice?
Yes. This can be done in one of two ways:
• Delete the responses for the quiz from the NEO (see page 9-38) and have
the student take the quiz again.
• When the student enters his or her name at the beginning of the quiz, have
the student use a different form of his or her name (such as Olivia Smith-2).
If the student tries to use the same name used for the first quiz, AlphaQuiz
will simply open the students’ first set of responses again.
Is it possible to print a quiz from the teacher’s computer?
The QuizManager reports let you choose to print elements of a quiz. The
Grading Sheet and Corrected Quiz Reports allow you to include the questions
on the quiz and the students’ answers, and the Corrected Quiz Report also
allows you to include the correct answers and teacher comments. All
QuizManager reports can be printed directly or saved to text files. To print
reports, see page 9-44.
You can also print the original quiz (without any student responses) in
QuizDesigner (see page 9-20).
Once an essay question is graded, what capabilities are there to make
notes on the student response in QuizManager?
When you grade the quiz in QuizManager, you can enter comments for each
of the student’s responses, and you can include these comments when you
print the student’s Corrected Quiz Report.
How and when do I assign the point values for each question?
You can assign point values to each question any time after you retrieve the
student responses for a quiz. For instructions, see page 9-40.
When you first write a quiz in QuizDesigner, all questions have the same
weight/point value—one point. You can click Points in QuizManager to
change the point values for each question. QuizManager will calculate the
weight (in %) for each question based on the point values you enter.
