Programs You’ll Use with AlphaQuiz
When you use AlphaQuiz, you actually use three programs:
Installing QuizDesigner and QuizManager
The AlphaQuiz SmartApplet comes installed on your NEO, but to create and
send quizzes and retrieve answers, you must install the QuizDesigner and
QuizManager on your computer. Follow the steps for your operating system.
System Requirements for QuizManager and QuizDesigner
Before you download and install these programs, make sure your computer
meets the NEO system requirements on www.renlearn.com/requirements/.
Windows Instructions for Installing QuizDesigner and QuizManager
1. If you have an AlphaSmart Manager CD, insert it into your computer,
open the AlphaQuiz folder on the CD, and double-click QuizDesigner
Setup.exe.
If you downloaded the AlphaQuiz SmartApplet system from our Web site,
extract the files. Then, double-click QuizDesigner Setup.exe.
After the setup has been prepared, the QuizDesigner installation Wizard
will appear.
2. Click Next > in the Welcome panel of the Wizard.
Program Purpose
AlphaQuiz SmartApplet Students use this SmartApplet on the NEO to take the
quizzes that you have created and sent to NEOs.
QuizDesigner Teachers use this program on a computer to create
quizzes that their students can take in AlphaQuiz. You
must install this program on your computer; see the
next section.
QuizManager Teachers use this program on a computer to send
quizzes to NEOs and to receive student responses for
grading. You must install this program on your
computer; see the next section.
If AlphaQuiz is not
installed on your
NEO, it may have
been removed by another
user. To install it again, see
page 1-3.
