Beaming from One NEO to Another from Within the
Beamer SmartApplet
You can also beam files using commands within the Beamer SmartApplet as
described below. However, since this procedure requires more steps, it’s
much easier to beam files from within AlphaWord Plus as described on
page 8-2.
You can send the files from NEO to NEO, from a NEO to an AS3000 with
System 3 software, or from an AS3000 to a NEO. Both devices must have
infrared ports and must be within three feet of each other.
Steps to Follow on the Sending Device
1. Make sure you know which AlphaWord or AlphaWord Plus file contains
the data you want to send.
2. Turn on the NEO by pressing on/off.
3. Press applets to view the SmartApplets menu.
4. Use the arrow keys to move the cursor next to Beamer in the list; then,
press enter. The Beamer screen appears.
5. On the NEO from which you want to beam, move the cursor next to Send
and press enter. (If Send is not available, the Beamer settings have been
changed so that beaming is not allowed; see page 8-10.)
After you choose Send, files that contain data appear in a list.
6. Select the file you want to send by doing one of the following:
Using the arrow keys, scroll through the list of files to move the cursor
next to the one you want; then, press enter.
Press the appropriate file # key along the top of the keyboard on the
device.
Select a Beaming function:
- Send
- Receive
- Settings
Select the file you want to send:
- File 1 (274 bytes)
- File 2 (992 bytes)
File 6 (1433 bytes)
Make sure you have
used AlphaWord
Plus at least once on
the device that will be
receiving the beam. This
initializes the program.
If you choose a file
that is protected by
an individual
password, you will be asked
to enter that password before
you can send the file. You can
enter the file password or the
master password. For more
on password protection, see
page 7-4.
