Typical Plug-in Transformer
Architects' and Engineers' Specifications
The plug-in transformer(s) shall be Alpha Communications®
(MODEL NO. HERE) or approved equal. Transformer(s) shall be
made of heavy duty ABS plastic, and shall be U.L. Listed for Class
II indoor locations.
Transformers shall have positive screw terminal connections for
the secondary wiring, and shall contain a built-in thermal fuse, to
protect these transformers from overheating and igniting.
Transformers shall be secured to the electrical outlet with a set
screw for secure installation
Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical and
building codes.
Features
Alpha Communications® features a complete line of U.L.® Listed
plug-in transformers to power their intercoms, video-intercoms,
nurse-call systems, and various signalling systems and devices.
The Alpha Communications® Class 2 plug-in transformers were
designed for quick and easy installation in applications where
pigtail-type transformers are impractical or unsightly. They are
particularly suitable for use in home or office installations, or in
areas where the transformer must be exposed.
All models can be secured to the electrical outlet with a set screw
for secure installation, once plugged in to the wall outlet. A built-in
thermal fuse protects these transformers from overheating and
igniting. Secondary connections are made to convenient screw
terminals. All models are U.L. listed for class II indoor wiring, and
most models have a built-in LED power 'on' indicator.
