Specifications
The apartment station(s) shall be Alpha
Communications® (V.I.P.™ series) model
IS481C or approved equal. Station faceplate
shall be minimum .035" solid stainless steel.
Momentary action, metal push-buttons shall
be provided for TALK, LISTEN and
DOOR functions. Button markings shall be
stamped right on the faceplate. The
speaker/microphone shall be a 2.75" (70mm)
high-sensitivity type with excellent voice-
frequency and tone signalling response. Color
coded pigtail wires shall be provided, and
required wiring shall be only three (3)
common wires and one (1) selective. (Add 1-
common wire for systems with individual apt.
door push-buttons that need to tone through
the IS481C stations).

The Alpha Communications® IS481C (V.I.P.™ series) apartment inte rcom stations are
de signed specifically to minimize vanda lism and tenant abuse . Made from .035" thick solid
stainles s stee l, with metal push-buttons, thes e stations are built to last. A high sensitivity
2.75" (70mm) spea ker assure s clear voice communication, as w e ll as to ne signal res ponse .
The IS481C is des igned to be mounte d flush, over e xisting Loe ffler (or e quivale nt) series
ove rsized flush back boxes, and a conve nient backplate is provided to ada pt to
various backboxe s and mounting hole co nfigurations.
Color-code d pigtail w ires make these stations easy to w ire . The a dvanced ele ctronic de sign
pe rmits use in any size building.
A w ide variety of optional acce ssorie s is a va ilable to provide additional functions such as
multi-entra nce opera tion, po st office door re lease , etc. Stations are also a vailable in custom
size s and w iring configurations.
