Architects' and Engineers' Specifications
Suite station(s) shall be Alpha Communications® / TekTone IR207B
(or IR207/5) or approved equal with rugged stainless steel panel
and momentary action pushbuttons for TALK, LISTEN, and DOOR
operation. The 3.50" x 2.50" speaker/microphone shall have voice
frequency response and be secured by stainless steel studs.
Screw terminal connections shall be provided.
Required wiring shall be only 3 common and 1 selective wires for
the IR207B, and 4 common and 1 selective wires for the IR207/5.
Stations shall mount into a standard 2-gang electrical box or ring.
Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical and
building codes.
IR207B and IR207/5 Apartment Intercom Stations
The IR207B and IR207/5 (special-order) apartment stations are
rugged, dependable units combined with advanced electronic
design to provide natural, clear voice communication and positive
door release operation. These versatile stations may be used in
large or small buildings and feature a wide variety of optional
accessories to provide needed additional functions such as
multiple entrance, post office door release, timed door
release operation, etc.

Individually replaceable push buttons with self
wiping contacts. Identified for TALK, LISTEN,
and DOOR functions.

System Operations
The caller, by pressing the appropriate button on the
entrance panel, causes an electronic call tone to be sounded in
the apartment station being called. The resident may then
determine the identity of the caller and permit entry to the
building, if so desired, by operating the apartment station as
follows:
TALK button Push while speaking to caller
LISTEN button Push while listening for reply
DOOR button Push to allow entry to building
