IMPORTANT
It is important that the machine is installed in a room with a room
temperature between + 16°C and +20°C in order to get exact
test results.
If the piston stroke is not suf cient, you can get the required test
chamber height as follows:
•
Insert distance pieces, namely put them centrically on the
lower pressure plate. Only distance pieces with a harde-
ned and ground contact surface have to be used.
•
If you have a testing machine with adjustable test cham-
ber height, the upper pressure plate has to be brought to
the specimen up to 10 mm.
•
Put the specimen exactly centrically on the lower pressu-
re plate or the distance piece. For this use the centering
marks or a measuring tape.
ATTENTION
With all testing machines you have to pay
attention to the piston stroke indicated in the
technical data, i.e. after having reached the
maximum piston stroke the machine is not
allowed to be charged anymore!
De-aeration of the pressure line
If, contrary to all expectations, air has got in the line between
pump and pressure cylinder (the piston extends jerkily), it can
be removed as follows:
•
Carefully unscrew the swivel nut of the pressure line at
the cylinder.
•
Switch on the hydraulic power unit, set it at „pressure in-
crease“ until oil comes out of the swivel nut. Then strongly
tighten the swivel nut again.
•
Check the oil-level and – if necessary – add oil.
