Updating the Operating System
Minimum Operating System Revisions
Before you begin the CPU upgrade, make sure your operating system is at the revision
level required by the hardware. Be sure to make a record of configuration parameters,
such as environment variables for Windows NT or Digital UNIX disk partition.

If your operating system revision level is lower than indicated in the table, refer to
your operating system documentation for instructions on updating the operating
system. Relevant documents are listed in the Preface.
If your Digital UNIX or OpenVMS operating system is at the correct revision level,
perform an operating system shutdown and go to Chapter 3.
If your Windows NT operating system is at the correct revision level, complete the
following procedure before shutting down the operating system. The procedure
installs new system files required for the CPU upgrade.
