This dialog box allows you to enter the network’s SSID (this field contains the SSID of the
network you chose in the Wireless Network Properties dialog box, if the network was
detected).
WEP can also be configured by clicking the Data encryption (WEP enabled) check box. If
your WEP configuration uses a shared key, click the Network Authentication (Shared
mode) click box. To enter the actual WEP key, unclick the The key is provided for me
automatically check box, and enter the key in the Network key: field. The Key format: field
allows the choice of ASCII characters (normal numbers and letters) or Hexadecimal digits
(0 through 9 and letters A through F). The Key length: field allows you to specify the
length of the key.
If you connecting to an 802.11 Ad Hoc peer-to-peer network, click the This is a computer-
to-computer (ad hoc) network; wireless access points are not used check box.
Clicking the OK or the Cancel button will take you back to the Wireless Network
Connection Properties dialog box, as shown below.
