4.2 Running AMEC AIS Viewer

By following the steps below, user may start the AIS Viewer in a very short time after

finishing all the installation:

Step 1: Open the viewer and go to “File”→ “Connect AIS” to set the serial port and baud rate

(Refer to figure 4-2-1). Please refer to Section 4.3.2.1“Connect AIS” for the details.

Step 2: If additional information is required from another GPS, please go to ““File”→ “Connect

GPS Receiver” to set the serial port and baud rate for GPS receiver (Refer to figure

4-2-1). Please refer to Section 4.3.2.1 “Connect GPS Receiver” for the details.

You may also click on ““File”→ “Device Wizard” to connect AIS with the AIS Viewer

easily.

Please select Manual or Auto for serial port and baud rate setting. Click on to

connect to the desired serial port and baud rate. (Refer to figure 4-2-2)

 Auto: the system will identify and show the serial port number and baud rate

automatically.

 Manual: Select appropriate serial port and baud rate manually. If you can‟t find the

desired serial port under the list, you may key in the serial port number

directly.
