Solaris 2.6 Server Upgrade — sun4m Clients May
Fail to Boot (1248447)
After upgrading the server software from Solaris 2.4 to Solaris 2.6, sun4m diskless
clients may fail to boot. If you have the FSUNpdir package installed, the sun4m
client will display the following message:
Note – The workaround below may be completed before or after the server is
upgraded; however, if you perform the workaround after the upgrade it must be
done on the server.
Workaround: Edit the /etc/system file in each sun4m diskless client’s root
directory and remove the following line:
The entry above is only needed for PFU S-4 Leia systems and may be safely removed
on all other systems even if they continue to run Solaris 2.4. For more information,
contact your authorized Sun support provider.
SPARCcenter 2000 — Spurious ISP Timeout
Errors (1220275)
Under heavy I/O load or heavy swapping activity, the SPARCcenter™ 2000 system
may experience spurious ISP timeout errors (see below).
Workaround: Increase the I/O time to 120 seconds (as compared to the default time
of 60 seconds). Add the following entry to your /etc/system file, then reboot your
system.
