Netscape Navigator 3.03 — Installation
Instructions Incorrect for Localized Versions
The online instructions in the Install_Navigator.ps file contained in the
Netscape Navigator CD contain incorrect information about installing a localized
version of Netscape from a local and remote CD-ROM drive. If you install the
software, you must install the English package too, not only the locale package as
documented.
Workaround: Perform the step below instead of the final step documented in the
sections “To Install from a Local CD-ROM Drive” and “To Install from a Remote
CD-ROM Drive.”
● Install Netscape Navigator by typing:
A list of available packages will appear. You must select the English package in
addition to the locale you want to install.
Netscape Navigator 3.03 — Crashes with Web
Pages using LiveConnect
The Netscape Navigator 3.03 browser, supplied with Solaris 2.6 on the Netscape
Navigator CD, will crash and core dump when reading certain types of web pages
that use LiveConnect technology to enable a Java applet to call JavaScript
™
to select
an element within an HTML form.
Workaround: Restart Netscape Navigator 3.03 and remove the core dump.
Booting From Partitions Greater Than 2-GBytes

Due to PROM limitations, all sun4c, sun4d, and sun4m architectures will not boot
from partitions greater than 2-GBytes. These systems will fail with the following
message:
# pkgadd -d ’pwd’
bootblk: can't find the boot program
