Log and Trap Listing by Reason Code Overview
2-5
Log Reference for SBx3100 and iMAP Series Switches (SBx3112 Logs with Traps)
Note: For a simplex system, the alarm is critical since all data traffic could be dropped.
2.1.4 (Mate) Control Link Lost
Message To Be Supplied
Severity Major
Explanation The internal control links between the CFCs are Ethernet based, and
so there is a condition defined that indicates the loss of control
plane links between CFCs. This alarm can be discovered by either
CFC in a duplex system.
Action Perform the following:
1. If the CFC slot is the active CFC, wait until a low traffic period and perform a switch of
activity. Then perform the following steps that are for an inactive CFC. Perform the
next step only if the current step does not resolve the problem.
2. Restart the inactive CFC
3. Reseat the inactive CFC.
4. Replace the inactive CFC.
5. If this does not resolve the problem, contact Allied Telesis support.
Alarms The following components are affected:
Component Status Alarm
CFC200 Online Major
GE24POE Failed Major
GE24SFP Failed Major
XE4 Failed Major
Note: The inactive CFC is in a FAILED state, and so the card can be replaced without a
further loss of traffic capacity.
2.1.5 Control Link Lost (CM side: slot 4) or (CM side: slot 5)
Message To Be Supplied
Severity Major
Explanation There is a control (messaging) link between each SM and each CFC
(one control link to the CFC in slot 4 another control link to the
CFC in slot 5). The CM runs a polling audit on the link, so if com-
munication is lost, the CM will report this and will include which
link (to slot 4 or 5). If the link is to the inactive CFC, layer 1
is lost, but switching traffic may not be affected.
Action Perform the following:
