2.22.2 Remote Loss of Signal (UNI)

Severity Info
Explanation This degrading alarm against the ONU indicates a loss of signal
condition on the UNI side of the ONU.
Action Perform the following:
1. Make sure a device is connected to the UNI interface on the ONU.
2. If a device is connected to the UNI interface, make sure it is powered up.
3. Check to see if the device or cable connected to the UNI interface is not defective. If
so, replace the defective device/cable.
4. Check to see if the ONU itself is defective. If so, replace it.

2.22.3 Remote Gate Timeout

Explanation This degrading alarm is raised per logical link against the ONU,
and is the result of excessive interval between MPCP gates.
Action Perform the following:

2.22.4 Remote Keep Alive Timeout

Explanation This degrading alarm is raised per logical link on the ONU, and
indicates that the OAM layer running on the ONU is not receiving
periodic messages from its peer on the OLT. This alarm is usually
the result of mis-configuration of the EPON bandwidth, causing
insufficient bandwidth for normal OAM communication. The QOS policy
configuration limits enforced by the iMAP CLI should prevent this
