Explanation This failing alarm is the result of the ONU failing to transmit on
the EPON, and is triggered by hardware inputs from transceiver. The
transmitted output does not input as reported by the EPON optics.
This alarm may indicate a problem with the ONU or its connection to
the fiber.
Action Perform the following:

Explanation The EPON card software load file also contains firmware for both
the OLT and ONU. This alarm indicates that the firmware on the ONU
is being upgraded, as an automatic result of upgrading the EPON
card’s software load.
Action Perform the following:
1. No action [Still True?] [To Be Supplied]. The alarm should clear on its own when the
upgrade is completed.

2.20.10 Waiting to Load Firmware

Explanation The EPON card software load file also contains firmware for both
the OLT and ONU. This alarm indicates that the firmware on the ONU
is to be upgraded, as an automatic result of upgrading the EPON
card’s software load. Per EPON interface, only one ONU at a time is
upgraded, all the rest are held in queue with this alarm raised
against them. When the ONU starts its firmware upgrade, this alarm
is cleared and the “Loading Firmware” alarm is raised.
