desired in a 15-minute interval. Unavailable seconds occur in
response to the failure of an interface. It is possible to see this
alert in conjunction with a LOS TCA. Typically, the alert is gener-
ated every fifteen minutes until the problem is corrected or until
a user changes the threshold value.

Explanation The ATU-R Severely Errored Seconds (SES) Threshold Crossing Alert
(TCA) trap provides an alert that a given ADSL interface has
crossed its user provisioned SES threshold during a given 15-minute
interval. Once generated during a 15-minute interval, the alert is
not generated again until the threshold is crossed again in the
next 15-minute interval. The alert indicates that a given interface
has experienced a cumulative SES condition in excess of what is
desired in a 15-minute interval. Typically, the alert is generated
every fifteen minutes until the problem is corrected or until a
user changes the threshold value.
