Parameter Meaning
Port Number The number of the port in the switch.
Port Identifier The unique identifier of the port. This parameter
consists of two parts, one part is the port number,
and the other is the priority configured for the port.
Port Role The role of the port, this can be either; Disabled,
Alternate, Backup, Designated, or Root.
Port State The state of the port. The state can be either;
Disabled, Discarding, Learning, or Forwarding.
Switch Port State The state of the port; one of “Enabled” or
“Disabled”
Link Status The link state of the port, one of “Up” or “Down”
Port Path Cost The path cost of the port within the region.
External Port Path Cost The path cost of the port outside the region, when
the port is a boundary port
Edge Port An edge port is one port that attaches to a LAN that
is known to have no other bridges attached. The
command output will be either yes or no.
Point to Point Link Indicates whether the port has a point to point
connection with another bridge. The command
output will be either yes or no.
Boundary Port Indicates whether the port is a boundary port in the
MST region. The command output will be either yes
or no.
