Naming the Multiplexer
This procedure assigns a name to the multiplexer. The name is displayed
in all management software windows. Names can make it easier for you
to identify the different multiplexers in your network when you
configure and manage them. The default name is WDM1008.
To name the system, perform the following procedure:
1. From the Main Menu, select System configuration.
2. From the System Configuration Menu, select System name and press
the Enter key.
❑ To set a new name for the system, enter a unique name of up to
20 characters.
❑ To delete the system name without entering a new name, enter a
space character.
3. Return to the Main Menu.
The new name is now displayed at the top of every management
window.
