8 AT-PWR01 Power Supply and Fan
Follow these steps to install either a power supply unit or fan
only module:
1. Read the safety information
Read the safety information included in this Quick Install Guide. This Quick
Install Guide is also on the Documentation and Tools CD-ROM and you can
download a copy from
http:// www.alliedtelesyn.co.nz/support.
2. Gather the tools and equipment you will need
To loosen or secure the mounting screws on a PSU or FOM you will need a
Phillips #2 screwdriver.
To install a DC version of the PSU, you will need an appropriate DC power
source, DC supply cable, ring connectors, and a crimp tool.
3. Unpack the power supply unit
Warning Do not attempt to install either a PSU or FOM without observing
correct antistatic procedures. Failure to do so may damage the PSU, FOM,
or switch. If you are unsure what the correct procedures are, contact your
authorised distributor or reseller.
Remove the PSU or FOM from its packing material in an antistatic
environment. Make sure you observe Electro Static Discharge (ESD)
precautions.
Verify the package contents. Contact your authorised distributor or
reseller if any items are damaged or missing.
4. Disconnect the power supply to the power supply unit
Warning Disconnect the power cord before removing the PSU.
For AC models
Switch the main power supply to the PSU off and disconnect the power
cord.
For DC models
Push the Run/Standby switch to the Off position using a small diameter pin.
When the Run/Standby switch is pushed out, it is Off. Disconnect the
supply cable wires from the circuit breaker.
5. For AC models only, install the power cord retaining clip
There is one retaining clip for the AC power inlet on the PSU.
