11. Built-in Browsers - SNMP MIB and CWMP
11.1 Overview - SNMP MIB
Management Information Bases (MIBs) are a collection of definitions that define the properties of the managed objects. To
enable a management application to operate intelligently on the data available on the managed device, the manager needs to
know the names and types of managed objects in the device. This is made available by the MIB modules. A MIB describes a
set of managed objects.
Each property of a managed object in a MIB has a unique identifier. This identifier consists of the type of the object (such as
counter, string, gauge, or address), the access level (such as read or read/write), size restrictions, and range information. It
should be understood that a MIB is only an abstraction of data available on the managed device and not a physical database or
a physically executable object.
Use the following table to locate the task you wish to perform. If you are using NMS, use the Screen Name as well to locate
the relevant section.
