Cabling Specifications

Category 5 UTP/STP for 100 Mbps; Category 3, 4, or 5 UTP for 10 Mbps

Maximum of 100 meters between hub and network node

Electrical Specifications

Power: External power supply with 100 to 120

VAC or 200 to 240 VAC, 50/60 Hz input.

UTP (RJ45) Connector

Figure 5 shows an RJ45 connector. For a 100Base-TX link between

switches, —any two Medium Attachment Units (MAUs)—you need a

crossover cable. For a connection to a Network Interface Controller (NIC),

the cable is wired straight through.
