❑ 512K of available RAM when running ATI CardAssistant
setup/diagnostics software
❑ A free 32-byte block of I/O at 240h, 260h, 280h, 2A0h, 300h,
320h, 340h or 380h
❑ An available interrupt (IRQ 3, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12 or 15)
❑ Compatible workstation operating system and network system
software
In addition to your workstation hardware, you must provide
network administration software like Novell’s NetWare,
Microsoft LAN Manager, Sun PC-NFS or Banyan Vines. You
must also provide the necessary cables, connectors and
terminators.
Where to Read From Here
If you are a first-time network user, and you just need to set up
and connect your PC to the net as a workstation, you should read
Chapters 2 and 3. These chapters are tailored to your needs, and
typically will get you up and running with minimal difficulty.
If you are an experienced network installer, and will be setting
up multi-adaptor workstations with large network bandwidth
requirements, or servers, or some other complex network
configuration, go to Chapter 4. Chapters 4 through 8 will have
the information you need.
