This section explains pin assignments for the following:
RS-232 Terminal Port (ASYN0)
RJ-45 Ports
RS-232 Terminal Port (ASYN0)
The RS-232 ASYN0 port connects the switch to a management device for initial
configuration. This port allows the software on the switch to be accessed from a
terminal or a PC running terminal emulation software.
The ASYN0 port has an RJ-45 socket with an industry recognised pinout. This
requires using a straight-through RJ-45 cable with an RJ-45 DB9 connector
when the switch is connected to a terminal or PC. The socket is wired as a DTE
and the pin layout is shown in the following figure and table.
