7.9.6.3 Setting up Split Management - Existing CPE
If a device is already provisioned, the feature is by default de-activated. This is shown by accessing the Service Management
form for the iMG and going to the iMG/RG tab, Mgmt. Info subtab, as shown in the following figure.
FIGURE 7-128 Mgmt. Info tab for Existing Wireless Device - Disabled (Default)
To enable this feature, the administrator can do one of the following:
• On the Service Management form, change Split Management to Enabled. Click on Modify to activate the feature.
• Modify the iMG/RG General profile to set Split Management to Enabled and redeploy the profile to the device
Note: It is recommended to modify the iMG/RG General Profile and redeploy the Profile; otherwise you are changing an attribute
that is part of the deployed profile, and so the iMG will show up as out of profile.
7.9.6.4 Viewing the Service Management Form
Once Split Management is enabled, the iMG/RG -> Mgmt. Info tab will show that Split Management is Enabled and Subscriber
Login and Password. The subscriber should immediately change the password (refer to 7.9.6.5). Also, the Mgmt. Subnets are
listed as follows:
For Routed internet service, nms and split_management are automatically added to the list.
For Bridged internet service, only the nms subnet is added. The NMS user must add a split_management subnet. The
customer IP address (assigned by DHCP or with a static address) should be known by the NMS administrator. The
subscriber should know the Service Set ID (SSID) and IP address for the wireless iMG (for routed service this is the
Gateway). Refer to the following figures.
