Parameter Meaning
Memory (DRAM) The total amount of DRAM installed in the router.
Free memory The amount of free (unused) memory, as a percentage of
total available memory.
Free fast buffers [Power PC based routers and switches only] The number of
free (unused) fast memory buffers. Fast buffer memory is
cached by the CPU and is available only for program
variable storage. It cannot be used for packet buffers.
Total fast buffers [Power PC based routers and switches only] The total
number of fast memory buffers.
Free buffers The number of free (unused) memory buffers.
Total buffers The total number of memory buffers.
Buffer level n Levels at which certain processes are halted if the value of
“Free buffers” drops below that level.
