Three-Phase Connections
For three-phase input, connect L1, L2, L3 and Ground
as shown in Figure 45.
IMPORTANT: If a stinger leg is used for three-
phase input, it MUST be connected to L3.
Grounding
For personal safety and proper operation, the machine
must be grounded in accordance with state and local
codes. If such codes are not available, grounding must
conform to the National Electric Code, article 250
(current edition). The ground connection must be
made to a proven earth ground, not to conduit or water
pipes.

Machines can be converted for lower voltage
operation and/or 50 Hz operation. Refer to conversion
label by nameplate for details.
Phase Adder
IMPORTANT: Do not use a phase adder on any
machine.
Thermal Overload Protector
For variable-speed machines, the AC drive provides
overload protection for the drive motor.
