SLIDE-OUT FEATURES
OPERATING PRECAUTIONS
EXTENDING THE SLIDE-OUT ROOM
Before the slide-out-room mechanism is to be used, make sure the motorhome is parked, the leveling
process has been properly completed. Verify that no obstacles (e.g., branches, trees, telephone poles,
power/water hookups, trash bins, and the like) are within a ve-foot space envelope of that slide-out
room to preclude damaging the slide-out room when it is nally deployed.
1. All windows in the slide-out room (Figure
10-2) must be closed and secured before the slide-
out room is to be extended or retracted. Also any
loose materials or possible obstructions should
be removed from the immediate, slide-out room
area.
Make sure that the motorhome has been leveled,
that the battery is fully charged and connected to
the electrical system, and that the ignition switch
is “on” and the engine is running before attempt-
ing to use the slide-out features.
2. Verify that there are no obstructions out-
side which may interfere with the operation of the
slide-out room.
3. Prior to moving the slide-out room in either direction, make sure that the driver’s and passenger’s
chairs are moved forward into the driving area as far as possible and locked into position.
4. Push the “out” section of the rocker switch; allow the slide-out room to go to its fully extended
position.
5. Release the rocker switch (this locks the room into position).

NOTICE
Before attempting to extend the slide-out room, check outside and make
sure that there is at least a five-foot clearance around the area where the
slide-out room will be extended and be sure the driver’s and passenger’s
seats are moved to the forward position.
