stems and prevent air from escaping from the valve stems.
Tire Wear, Balance, and Wheel Alignment
In addition to tire ination considerations, the tires should also be periodically examined for other
types of normal “wear and tear.” If installed and maintained properly, all tires mounted on the motor
home should wear in a smooth, even pattern. If the tires begin to show irregular wear patterns and
the motor home alignment is still correct, then sometimes just rotating the tires by changing wheel
position and rotation of the tires will allow the tires to wear evenly.
Check with the chassis manufacturer (Power Glide) and its literature in the Owner’s Information
Package for particulars on maintaining proper wheel alignment.
Tire Cleaning
Proper cleaning of the tires will assure maximum years of service. A so brush and the normal
mild soap should be used to clean the tires. Use care in applying any tire “dressing” product as these
contain petroleum derivatives, alcohol, or silicones which may cause deterioration of the rubber,
possibly leading to cracking, and accelerate the aging process. In many instances it isnt the actual
dressing itself, but the reaction of that product with the antioxidant in the tire. Heat can compound
this problem also.
