Preface
Environmental compliance
Alfa Laval endeavours to perform its own operations as cleanly
and efficiently as possible. Environmental aspects ar e taken
into consideration when developing, designing, manufacturing,
servicing and marke ting t he company’s products.
Brazed Plate Heat Exchangers
(BHE) c onsist of stainless s teel
channel plates and frame elements and bonded s tainless s teel
or c arbon steel connections. Bolts, which ar e stainless steel
or c arbon steel with diff
erent surface treatments, are usually
welded onto the pr oduct. Additionally, feet and lifting lugs can
be mounted on demand.
Unpacking
Packing material consists of wood, plastics, cardboard boxes
and, in some cases , m etal straps.
Packing materials can be reused, recycled or used for energy
recovery, according to local legislations.
Disposal
Heat exchangers must be recycled according to relevant, local
regulations. Any hazardous res idues from the process liquid
must be considered and dealt with in a properly. When in
doubt, or in ab sence of local regulations, p lease contact the
local Alfa Laval representative.
Restricted substances
All plate heat
exchangers are in compliance with R E ACH
(Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of
Chemicals) and RoHS Directive.
