Maintenance
Ty pe of cleaning:
• Acidic c leaning removes inorganic dep osits such as
limestone.
• Alkaline cleaning removes or ganic deposits. During the
process it is important to control the pH v alue and the
recommended pH value is 7.5 - 10. Higher pH values
increase risk of the copper oxidizing.
• Neutralization of cleaning liquids before draining and
flushing the unit w ith potable water.
Follow the instructions of the C IP equipment.
Consult an Alfa Laval Represe ntative for approriate advice
on selecting CIP equipm ent.

Use proper protective equipment, such a s s afety
boots, safety gloves and eye protection, when using
cleaning agents.

Corrosive cleaning liquids ca n cause serious injuries
to skin and ey es!

procedure, refer to the CIP manual.
Rinse well with fresh water after cleaning.
Caution!
Make sure that the handling of residuals after using
cleaning liquids follows the local environmental
regulations.
