Electronic Timer
Users Manual
GENERAL:
Use the DTS-714(B) to automatically
switch-on or switch-off any electric device.
The 7 on and 7 off times can be set with an
accuracy of 1 minute. You can program per
day, per week or per combination of days.
The built-in rechargeable battery will save
the programmed switching times during a
power failure.
In case the battery is empty, plug the timer
into a mains outlet and act as follow:
1. Keep the timer into the 230V outlet for
24 hours
2. Press button ‘R’ for 5 seconds
3. The timer is now ready for use
IMPORTANT:
Before connecting the timer to the mains
outlet, check that the mains voltage and
frequency correspond to the rating plate
(rear side of timer).
Do not overload. Refer to the Ampere
rating (Amp) on the rating plate.
Ensure that the ON/OFF switch of any
appliance connected to the timer is in the
ON position.
Do not expose the timer to extremely high
or low temperatures. Do not place the timer
in direct sunlight. Do not allow the timer to
come into contact with water.
CHANGE BETEEN 12-HR AND 24-HR
CLOCK:
1. Press and hold button ‘TIME’ for some
seconds to change between 12-HR and
24-HR CLOCK:
- in case the display indicates “AM” or
“PM”, the time is displayed in a 12 hour
format
- in case “AM” or “PM” is not on the
display, the time is displayed in a 24-
hour format
SET THE ACTUAL DAY AND TIME:
1. Press and hold the ‘TIME’ button:
- set the actual time using buttons ‘HR’
and ‘MIN’
- set the present day of the week using
the button ‘DAY’
2. Now release the button ‘TIME’; the clock
is running.
PROGRAMMING THE SWITCHMOMENTS:
You can set as much as seven switching-
ON and OFF commands in the following
way:
1. Press button ‘PROG’ once. The actual
time will disappear from the display. The
indication “ON --.--” will be displayed
instead, denoting a vacant storage
space.
2. Set the required switching-ON time
using buttons ‘HR’ and ‘MIN’.
3. Set the day or combination of days on
which the switching-ON command must
be executed.
4. Press button PROG once. The display
will read “OFF --.--”.
5. Set the required switching-OFF time
using buttons ‘HR’ and ‘MIN’.
6. Set the day or combination of days on
which the switching-OFF command must
be executed.
7. Press button PROG to save the
command. When the indication “ON --.--”
appears, you can programm the next
setting.
8. Press the TIME button to return to the
idle state.
DTS-714(B)
Plug the DTS-714(B) into a 230 Volt AC
mains outlet and connect the device with
the DTS-714(B). Please make sure that an
eventual ON/OFF switch of the device is
set to ON.
CHECK:
Press the ‘PROG’ button to check the
prorammed switching times and to repro-
gramm if necessary. Press ‘TIME’ to return
to the idle state.
ERASE:
Press the ‘PROG’ button untill the switching
command which must be erased is on the
display. Press button ‘DEL’ and the display
will show “--.--”.
RECALL:
A deleted switching command can be
recalled.
1. Press ‘PROG’ and look for the switching
command you have deleted (1~7).
2. Press ‘DEL’ again and the original
switching time will come on the display.
3. Press ‘TIME to return to the idle state.
OVERRIDE:
Use the ‘MAN’ button to manually switch
the connected device:
- In case the cursor lights above ‘1’, than
the device is switched ON and will
remain ON.
- In case the cursor lights above ‘T’, than
the device is controlled by the timer.
- In case the cursor lights above ‘0’, than
the device is switched OFF and will
remain OFF.
- In case you first let the cursor lights
above ‘1’ and afterwards above ‘T’ than
the device will be switched-ON and
will keep ON until the programmed
OFF-instruction.
- In case you first let the cursor lights
above ‘0’ and afterwards above ‘T’ than
the device will be switched-OFF and
will keep OFF until the programmed
ON-instruction.
SORT OF APPLIANCE:
Due to the DTS-714(B)’s switching-relais,
almost all kind of devices can be connec-
ted to the timer.
It is however recommended not to connect
(household)-machines with a load of more
than 2000 watt because the starting current
might damage the relais contacts.
Outdoor lamps can be switched providing
the timer is installed inside the house.
