This is the one page Assembly Instructions included with each chair.
This is the hardware for a single chair. The instructions clearly show that the “G” and “E” bolts are used to attach the seat to the back of the chair and the “F” bolts are used to attach the front legs. The instructions also say “DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN BOLTS.
This shows that the “G” bolts will go all the way through the leg if tightened all the way. This will split the leg. The “F” bolts are the correct length and securely fasten the legs without the need to over tighten. The “G” bolt is the wrong part to use. This is where the “G” bolts stops if used in the front leg. It can be tightened further with effort and the sound of wood splitting can be heard.
When the “G” bolt is fully tightened the leg splits. We clearly show not to use these bolts and clearly state “DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN BOLTS.
