with Motorola two-way radios to ensure optimum

Motorola batteries are available in various chemistry
and capacity alternatives, allowing the user
to select the ideal battery for his or her needs. NiCd
batteries provide the maximum number of
charge/discharge cycles and are best suited for
temperature extremes. NiMH batteries provide
more talk-time per shift and are less prone to
memory effect. Li-ion batteries offer the best
power-to-weight ratio of all chemistries, with no
memory effect.

each two-way radio battery model must pass
grueling Accelerated Life Testing (ALT) that includes
a rain test (steady rainfall and wind for 30 minutes
on every surface), a salt fog test (exposure to an
atomized salt solution for 48 hours), a dust test (six
hours of dust blowing on all surfaces), a vibration
test (up to nine hours of exposure to vibration) and
a shock test (18 shocks with a minimum G force of
40 Gs apiece).
