Include the:
• Phone cable if analog phone line being used.
• MultiConnect AW wireless device and device power cord if
cellular network being used.
• Ethernet cable if Internet being used.
Wireless SCRAM Base Station
Give the client a copy of the “Install Wireless SCRAM Base Station
at Monitoring Location” quick sheet. The quick sheet is available
on the SCRAM
NET Help page.
REMOVE SCRAM BASE STATION
Perform the following steps when the client arrives with the base
station being removed.
1. Set the SCRAM equipment to Pending Removal.
a. Access the client’s Equipment page.
b. Click the Remove Base Station button in the base station
row and complete the process.
The status of the base station is set to Pending Removal.
Note: If a wireless SCRAM Base Station is being removed,
the status of that device is immediately set to In Inventory.
2. Log into the Direct Connect application.
Wired SCRAM Base Station Only
a. Open the Direct Connect application.
b. Log into the Direct Connect application using your SCRAM
NET
username and password.
3. Connect the base station with the Direct Connect application.
Wired SCRAM Base Station Only
a. Plug the power cord into the old base station and into an
electrical outlet.
» Base station display:
◊ Line 1 – DATE/TIME
◊ Line 2 – CHECK PHONE LINE
b. Plug the small (mini-B type) USB connector into the base
station.
At this time:
» Base station status in the Direct Connect application:
Idle -> Communicating
» Base station display:
◊ Line 1 – DIRECT CONNECT
◊ Line 2 – ONLINE
» Any remaining data is transferred from the base station
to SCRAM
NET.
» The base station software is checked and updated, if
necessary.
