Cellular/WI-FI
The wireless SCRAM Base Station allows data to be quickly
uploaded to SCRAM
NET using either cellular or WI-FI services.
Internet Service
To use the ethernet port on the base station, using the proper
tool such as needle-nose pliers, carefully remove the clear, plastic
plug from the Ethernet port. Damage may occur if the plug is
improperly removed. If the client has an Internet modem or
router installed, use an Ethernet cable to connect the base station
to an available network port to send data back to SCRAM
NET
using the client’s Internet service.
Important Note: AMS has no control over the reliability of the
client’s Internet service and AMS Customer Services should NOT
be contacted if Internet services are interrupted. It is the client’s
responsibility to contact his/her Internet Service Provider should
an interruption occur.
Analog Phone Line
An analog phone line can be used to transmit client data to
SCRAM
NET.
Wireless
The MultiConnect AW wireless device can also be used to transmit
the client’s data to SCRAM
NET using a cellular network. Two
versions of the device are available for your use. Both function in
the same way using two generations of wireless technology.
MULTICONNECT AW WIRELESS DEVICE LIMITATIONS
Be aware of these three product limitations as you determine if
using the MultiConnect AW wireless device is your best option for
this SCRAM House Arrest client:
There is no caller ID associated with the SCRAM Base
Station when using the wireless device. Consequently, you
cannot use caller ID to ensure that a SCRAM Base Station
is at a particular location.
The wireless device does not have a movement sensor,
so you must rely on telephone loss and AC power loss
messages if you want to be noti ed when a base station
has potentially been moved.
The wireless device has no back-up battery.
Because of these limitations, the wireless device may be more
appropriate for curfew monitoring and low-risk clients. The device
may not be appropriate for more rigorous house-arrest programs
and high-risk offenders.
2. Give the client a breath alcohol test.
3. Perform SCRAM
NET tasks.
a. If you were not able to enter the client’s information in
SCRAM
NET prior to the client’s arrival, enter that information
into SCRAM
NET now using the Add New Client page.
