Procedure 2-31 To change the maximum number of concurrent
5620 SAM admin user sessions
1 Log in to the main server station as the samadmin user.
2 Navigate to the server configuration directory, typically
/opt/5620sam/server/nms/config.
3 Create a backup copy of the nms-server.xml file.
4 Open the nms-server.xml file using a plain-text editor.
5 Locate the following XML tag:
<samsession
This section of the file contains the maximum number of admin sessions that can
be configured.
max5620SAMAdminSessions="value"
where value is the max number of allowed admin user sessions.
6 Save and close the nms-server.xml file.
7 Open a console window and navigate to the server binary directory, typically
/opt/5620sam/server/nms/bin.
8 Enter the following at the prompt:
bash$ ./nmsserver.bash read_config
The main server reads the nms-server.xml file and the number of sessions defined.
9 Log out of the main server and close the open console windows.
Procedure 2-32 To configure the number of allowed client sessions
for a client delegate server
1 Using an account with Update permission on the Server package, choose
AdministrationSystem Information from the 5620 SAM main menu. The
System Information form opens.
2 Click on the Client Delegate Servers tab.
Caution — Contact your Alcatel-Lucent technical support
representative before you attempt to modify the nms-server.xml file.
Modifying the nms-server.xml file can have serious consequences that
can include service disruption.
Note — The 5620 SAM continues to accept new client sessions from a
client delegate server after the allowed number of sessions is reached.
The maximum number of sessions is used as a guide for balancing the
client session load among multiple client delegate servers.
