Procedure 14-9 To stop an auxiliary server
1 Choose Administration→System Information from the 5620 SAM main menu. The
System Information form opens.
2 Click on the Auxiliary Servers tab.
3 Select the auxiliary server and click Properties. The Auxiliary Server (Edit) form
opens.
4 Set the Operation Mode parameter to In Maintenance Mode.
5 Click OK to commit the change and close the form.
The auxiliary server stops.
6 Close the System Information form.
14.7 Starting and stopping an auxiliary database
The following procedures describe how to start and stop an auxiliary database in a
5620 SAM auxiliary database cluster.
Procedure 14-10 To start an auxiliary database
Perform this procedure to start the auxiliary database software on a station in an
auxiliary database cluster.
1 Log in to the auxiliary database station as the root user.
2 Open a console window.
3 Enter the following to start the database proxy:
# /etc/init.d/samauxdbproxy start
4 Enter the following to start the database:
# /etc/init.d/samauxdb start
5 Close the console window.
Caution — Performing this procedure may be service-affecting. Ensure
that you perform this procedure only during a scheduled maintenance
period.
