4 Enter the following to switch to the root user:
bash$ su -
5 Navigate to the directory that contains the 5620 SAM installation software and
perform one of the following:
a Perform the following steps to open the 5620 SAM server installer on a RHEL
station:
i Enter the following:
# cd Linux ↵
ii Enter the following:
# ./ServerInstall_RHEL_R_r_revision.bin ↵
where
R_r is the release identifier, in the form MAJOR_minor
revision is the revision identifier, such as R1, R3, or another descriptor
b Perform the following steps to open the 5620 SAM server installer on a Solaris
station:
i Enter the following:
# cd Solarisx86 ↵
ii Enter the following:
# ./ServerInstall_SolarisX86_SAM_R_r_revision.bin ↵
where
R_r is the release identifier, in the form MAJOR_minor
revision is the revision identifier, such as R1, R3, or another descriptor
The 5620 SAM server configuration utility opens, and displays the Introduction
panel.
6 Click Next. The Software License Agreement panel is displayed.
7 Select “I accept the terms of the License Agreement” and click Next. The Choose
Installation Type panel is displayed.
8 Select Main Server Configuration and click Next.
9 Click Next in each subsequent panel until the XML Output Directory panel is
displayed.
10 Click Install. The installer reconfigures the 5620 SAM server, and then displays the
Installing the Server as a Unix Daemon panel.
11 Click Next. The Installation Complete panel is displayed.
12 Click Done. The installer closes.
13 Close the console window.
