Chapter 5: Internationalization and
Localization
This section of the Release Notice describes issues related to translation, and also
describes other limitations in scope that are related to non-English versions of the CA
Spectrum software.
This section contains the following topics:
Localization Overview (see page 43)
Limitations and Considerations (see page 47)
Known Issues (see page 51)
Localization Overview
CA Spectrum is internationalized to support different languages and is localized to
support Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. CA Spectrum displays a
non-English language as installed by the user and displays English when the installed
language is not supported.
In CA Spectrum Release 9.4, localized product technical documentation is not yet
available. Translated documentation is forthcoming, however. The Product
Management team can provide a timeline for its availability.
Important! Verify that your system is language-compatible and that your operating
system can fully deploy the desired language before installing CA Spectrum in a
non-English locale.
Language and Installation
When you install CA Spectrum, you pick the language that you want to install. If you
select a non-English language, then that language and English are installed. If you use
the GUI installers, then the languages that you can select from are derived from the
system Locale. If you use the distinst installer, you specify the language on the
command line. We recommend that you set the system Locale to the desired language
before you install CA Spectrum.
Note: Installation into a localized directory is not supported.
